The 250-dollar Black Friday Asus laptop with Best Buy SKU 6780111 is actually the X401A-BHPDN37 14-inch model in pink color with Windows 8, the Intel Pentium B980 processor, 4GB of RAM, and a 320GB hard drive, while the DVD drive is omitted.
This configuration is actually better in some important aspects than the black Asus X401A-RHCLN3, which will be on sale at Kmart for $30 less. The Pentium B980 is better than the Celeron B830 in the latter notebook, which, as another downside, has only 2GB of RAM (and it’s hardly upgradeable on the X401A series). For comparison, the Passmark benchmark CPU score of the Pentium is 1,793, whereas the Celeron scores about 1,500.
The only downside of the X401A-BHPDN37 6780111 I can think of is the pink chassis, which probably won’t be to attractive for the most men. Other than that, this is one of the best notebook offers for the 2012 Black Friday and it’s a fully equipped one (if you exclude DVD drive), with a six-cell battery, webcam, stereo speakers, USB 3.0, and HDMI.
The official page of the laptop at Best Buy website is here. There you can see that the regular price is $499.99, but that’s a little bit high one considering the specs, because for that amount you can now easily find an Intel Core i5 equipped notebook.
