Lenovo IdeaPad S110 netbook with the Intel Atom Cedar Trail processor has not been officially announced yet, but the PC maker has published a promo video for their new 10.1-incher. In addition, Pro Vantage lists the S110 206932U model with the Atom N2600, 1GB RAM, 320GB HDD, and Windows 7 Starter for $321, so the official announcement is most likely coming soon.
According to the video, the S110 is 16mm thick and weighs 1.15kg. The chassis design appears to be a new one. The 10.1″ screen is advertised as “HD”. The netbook has a 98% full-size isle-style keyboard with curved keys a.k.a. AccuType and includes a USB 3.0 port, as well as an optional 2MP webcam. It has Wi-Fi and optionally 3G, but we couldn’t find any info on HDMI. The device will ship in varios colors. We have spotted a black, white, red, and blue S110 in the video.
Besides Windows, the netbook has instant-on OS for quick web access without booting into the main OS. It’s interesting that Lenovo avoids to say that the S110 is a netbook, but they rather call it “mini notebook”. It looks like Lenovo thinks that netbooks got too much bad press over the years due to their low performance. Anyway, a small laptop with a 10″ screen and Atom CPU is a netbook, isn’t it?
