ASTRONEER – The Crafting Update Guide

Within Astroneer, crafting is a crucial aspect of the game. When you create items and cars, you can build your base and gain more powerful objects. Vehicles are handy when exploring the globe.
Certain vehicles, such as the Shuttle, can allow travelers to explore other planets. As such, knowing the crafting system is essential. On this page, you’ll discover how to make new vehicles and objects and obtain new blueprints.

How do we create new objects and vehicles?
Objects and vehicles are crafted in Printer-type things and your backpack.
You can create items in four different objects:
- Your character’s backpack
- Small Printer
- Medium Printer
- Large Printer
You receive a backpack and a medium printer at the beginning of the course. To complete a crafting kit, you’ll need to make small printers using 1x compound in your backpack and a Large Printer using 3x Compound within the medium printer.
Large Printers and a Medium Large Printer should be placed on platforms. Namely, they are a medium Platform and a Large Platform. Large Platform in turn (a backpack and small printer can be used wherever). After you’ve finished creating these items, you must connect them to a power source in the beginning. It is recommended for them to be connected to your main base. When you open the menu for printing, you’ll be able to view the types of objects you could create and their costs in terms of resources. At first, only the primary things are available. You will need to purchase new blueprints to access the other ones.
How do you get new blueprints?
To open new vehicles or objects, You must first master the proper diagram. All recipes can be found within the Research Catalog – you can access them directly in your bag. You can get blueprints through the use of bytes. You receive them through Sample research. Bytes are the only restriction to accessing recipes – If you have the correct number of bytes, you can purchase a recipe for even the most complicated objects.
